On Saturday, August 29, 2020, Fred Mays passed. He was a Captain with the City of Pittsburgh Fire Bureau, retiring from 35 Engine after 36 years of service. He enjoyed working out at the gym, following the Steelers and the Penguins, and spending time at the library. He was the author of over 50 poems and was affectionately known as the “Poet of the North.”
