Joseph Patrick Phillips 0f Merritt Island 95, passed away peacefully Sat, Sept 23, 2017. He was born April 16, 1922 in Wheeling, WV. He moved to Brevard in 1980 after retiring 32 years as a Captain, in the Pittsburgh Fire Dept. Joe touched the lives of countless with his pleasant engaging personality. A WWII vet Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. Joe was avid golfer, expert pool player loved thrifting and flea markets. Proud 1998 graduate of Brevard Community College. Joseph’s ashes will be honored at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Friday Oct, 6, 2017 at 12 noon.
